Synergy Process

Participating in Synergy is as simple as 123...
Step one: Register: It's simple! just download the registration form, complete and send it back to the FIOSA - MIOSA Safety Alliance of BC
Step two: Attend the Orientation meeting: The Safety Advisor will organize a time and location for the orientation session. The orientation will introduce you to the other members of the group and prepare you for the rest of the program.
Effective safety management programs involve all stakeholders. Up to three representatives of your company may attend the orientation session and the following workshops. The participants do not have to have a prior knowledge of safety. However, one representative must act as the key contact and serve as the program anchor for your company and be present for all of the workshop sessions the company attends.
Step three: Prepare for each training workshop: Prepare for each session by completing an Action Plan sheet for the relevant safety management system element.
Step four: Attend the training workshops (learn and network): Each workshop begins with a half-day training session. Participants have to bring the relevant Action Plan to the meeting for review and discussion in the afternoon. Refine your Action Plan and prepare for its implementation.
Step five: Participate in teleconferences: At least one teleconference will be scheduled between workshop meetings. An agenda is circulated in advance of the teleconference. Each teleconference will include a round-robin where individuals
report on their developments, identify challenges, and ask for solutions if they need them.
Step six: Implement your action plan for each element: In the two months between SYNERGY sessions you will both implement the Action Plan from the last session and develop company policy to support the Action Plan that you will develop for the next program element.
We encourage you to take advantage of the services of a FIOSA - MIOSA Safety Alliance of BC Safety Advisor if you have any questions regarding implementation. You can get in touch with an adviser by calling or emailing the FIOSA - MIOSA Safety Alliance of BC. Remember, the SYNERGY Forum is a valuable resource for gathering and sharing information with other participants.
