We’re Rebranding in 2012 from COR to OSSE

One of the improvements we will be making this year is a renaming and rebranding of the COR Certificate of Recognition to the OSSE Occupational Safety Standard of Excellence.

Why Change?

The current COR brand lacks proper definition and can be confused with other similarly named certifications. For example; Cor.ca provides a COR certification for Kosher products. This can cause confusion when employers use the COR branding on their products, promotional materials, stationery or websites.

We want to ensure that our members can get the full value of their certification and that they are recognized for their commitment to safety.

OSSE will clearly and simply define an employer as a ‘Safe Employer’.

Don’t Panic

There will be no change other than in the name and the brand. This is simply a rebranding exercise and will have no impact whatsoever on your current certification. All of the benefits of COR will follow through seamlessly to the OSSE program.

OSSE will be recognized by WorkSafeBC’s Partner’s Program and, from the point of view of enforcement, WorkSafe premiums and discounts and in all other regulatory matters OSSE will be recognized as identical to COR for food and manufacturing industries in BC.

When?

The rebranding will be performed over several months and be completed by April 1 of 2012. You will be provided with all necessary labels, logos and files in order that the transition can be accomplished in conjunction with your own marketing initiatives.
